WestBridge provided a safe, comfortable, supportive environment in the early days of our son's sobriety. He felt like he was on vacation. I think he meant physically, because of the comfortable living quarters and excellent meals, but mentally he was working very hard.

Mary Ryan Woods, RNC, LADC, MSHS - CEO
Mary is the Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer of WestBridge and a member of the leadership team. She is also a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor with more than 20 years experience in substance abuse services and community mental health programs. She received her nursing diploma from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira, NY, her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service Administration from Springfield College in Massachusetts. Mary has conducted extensive workshops and trainings with a primary focus in Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change Theory and Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders. In addition, Mary has provided consultation services to Serenity Place – NH, Ohio County Boards and Camden and Islington Health Trust, UK. She is also a contributor to the development of the Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment Practitioners and Clinical Supervisors Workbook and Practice Demonstration Video. Mary is the Chairperson of the NH State Board of Licensing for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professionals. She has been a member of the NH Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor’s Association since 1984, and has served as the Northeast Regional Vice President for the NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals from 1998 – 2002. She is the immediate past president of NAADAC.

Jonathan Routhier, MBA, MSW - COO
Jonathan is the Chief Operations Officer of WestBridge, providing oversight of all financial functions and serving as a member of the leadership team. He also helps direct clinical services and facilities. Jonathan holds an MBA degree from Franklin Pierce College and a Master of Social Work Degree from Boston University . He brings over 15 years of experience in community mental health and substance abuse treatment services. In addition to his direct clinical work with adults who experience co-occurring disorders, Jonathan has directed a residential treatment program, overseen quality and utilization management programs and directed business office and intake services.

Medical Team

Mary Brunette, MD - Psychiatrist / Medical Committee Chair
Dr. Mary Brunette is the Medical Director of the Bureau of Behavioral Health in New Hampshire, an associate professor of psychiatry at Dartmouth, and a sensitive clinician with vast experience in the treatment of severe mental illness and dual disorders. Mary has published many articles, and continues active involvement in research in areas such as motivational interviewing, integrated dual disorders treatments and psychopharmacology

Deb Bury, RN - Medical Coordinator
Deb Bury is a licensed registered nurse working with both the Manchester Care Management team and The Commons in NH. Deb offers support to our participants through medication education, conducting medical assessments and coordinating medical needs. She also plays an integral role in establishing protocols for our medical team. Deb has over 15 years of experience working primarily in acute care psychiatric settings at both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon and Concord Hospital. Deb is currently enrolled in the Pennsylvania State University Nurse Management program.

Delia Cimpean Hendrick, MD - Psychiatrist ⁄ Internist
Dr. Delia Cimpean is board certified in psychiatry and internal medicine. She was educated at the University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, University Paris-Sud and Dartmouth Medical School. She is assistant professor of medicine and psychiatry at Dartmouth, a consultant psychiatrist and a primary care doctor, and is involved in research at the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center on integrating medical and psychiatric care. Dr. Cimpean has experience with people with serious mental illness, addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders, and is adept in evidence-based psychiatric treatments, delivered in conjunction with preventative and ongoing medical care.

Dr. Robert Drake, MD, PhD - Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Medical Director of Dartmouth Center for Evidence-Based Practices
Dr. Robert Drake is the Andrew Thomson Professor of Psychiatry and Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and the Director of the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center. He was educated at Princeton, Duke, and Harvard Universities. At Dartmouth for 25 years, he is currently Vice Chair and Director of Research in the Department of Psychiatry. He works as a community mental health doctor and researcher. His research focuses on co-occurring disorders, vocational rehabilitation, health services research, and evidence-based practices. He has written 15 books and over 400 papers.

Jennifer Goguen, RN - Nurse / Residential Counselor
Jennifer Goguen received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rivier College in Nashua in 2010 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree from Rivier as well. She has previously worked as a charge nurse in a long term care center for patients with Alzheimer's disease and has a passion for mental health treatment. She will be working alongside the residential team to provide assistance with medication planning, health assessments and wellness teaching.

Zev Schuman-Olivier, MD - Boston Area Medical Director
Dr. Schuman-Olivier is ABPN board certified in adult psychiatry. He prescribes and works with Boston Area participants and families. A graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine with AOA honors, he received psychiatry training at Harvard Medical School. In addition, he completed adult psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, where he was chief resident for addiction services. He completed specialty fellowship training in addiction psychiatry at Harvard⁄Partners Health Care, where he developed clinical specialty areas, including young adults with dual diagnosis and outpatient treatment of opioid dependence. He is trained to provide evidence-based therapies for addiction, including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. He was nationally recognized for his research on buprenorphine treatment for opioid dependence as the winner of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry Young Investigator Award. He currently has a prestigious Dupont-Warren research fellowship from the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. Furthermore, he is principal investigator on several grants, including an ongoing NIH-supported randomized controlled trial of mindfulness training vs. cognitive-behavioral therapy for smoking cessation, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Dr. Schuman-Olivier also conducts trainings on integrating mindfulness into addiction treatment and recovery programs.

Kim Steed, RN - Nurse - Brooksville Team
Kim Steed graduated from nursing school in 2007 after raising four children and working 13 years as a pharmacy buyer and pharmacy technician in both Pennsylvania and Florida. After working as a student nurse at Oak Hill Hospital, Kim began her nursing career at Springbrook Psychiatric Hospital, also in Brooksville. At Springbrook, she gained critical care, older adult and dual-diagnosis experience working as a staff nurse, admissions nurse and supervisor for three different units. She also worked on the behavioral unit at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills as a charge nurse, emergency room psychiatric nurse and admissions nurse for their outpatient program.

Drew Welch, RN - Nurse - Boston Area Team
Drew Welch is the Team Leader for the Boston Area Team. Drew is a licensed registered nurse with over 16 years of experience with individuals with co-occurring disorders. He managed Atlantic House of Center for Health and Development, a community based clubhouse program where he provided support, education, counseling and advocacy for consumers and their families. Later he worked with the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership, as a specialized medical/psychiatric nurse case manager for high-risk dually diagnosed individuals. Most recently, Drew was Nurse Manager of the inpatient unit for dually diagnosed patients at Bournewood Hospital.

Kevin Keefe, MSW, LICSW - Chief of Facilities & Human Resources
Kevin is a Team Leader with WestBridge Community Services. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). His skills are utilized in human resources, direct care, family work, supervising the evaluation team as well as maintaining positive relations with: current and former families; participants; the community; and the industry. Kevin graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has 14 years of post graduate experience working with individuals and families in crisis as well as direct care management in a community based setting. Kevin managed two separate programs for the State of Washington: a secure residential facility for dual diagnosed adolescents; and a statewide team which investigated allegations of abuse/neglect in licensed care facilities. Kevin has also worked in emergency services which supported individuals and families through acute crisis. Just prior to coming on board with WestBridge, Kevin worked with another non-profit agency, Child & Family Services of NH, where he was a member of an integrated team which provided home and community based services to families.

Jennifer Cooley, MBA, PHR - Office Manager ⁄ Human Resources
Jennifer is a Human Resources/Office Manager at WestBridge Community Services and is a member of the Human Resources and Administrative teams in the corporate office. She is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including:  interviewing, hiring, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations and staff development. Jennifer also assists with accounting, event planning, customer service, as well as other duties. Prior to WestBridge, Jennifer worked as an office manager at a manufacturing & engineering company where she oversaw many of the day-to-day operations including: purchasing, human resources, benefits administration, as well as payroll and accounting functions.

Melissa Westerman, BA - Customer Relations Coordinator
Melissa graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Saint Anselm College in 1996. She is the Customer Relations Coordinator at WestBridge and is responsible for developing and monitoring relationships with individuals, families, and referral sources, as well as marketing duties. Prior to this, Melissa was a Care Manager for WestBridge from 2003-2005 and was responsible for providing direct clinical services to participants and families who experience co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. She has worked in the Mental Health⁄Substance Use field since 1996. This time was spent in adult Residential settings promoting independence and empowerment for participants. She has also been Team Leader for an Assertive Community Treatment team, specializing in the field of vocational counseling. She has had several years experience chairing fundraising walks, such as “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” of Greater Manchester and NAMI New Hampshire. She was a NAMI- NH committee member and was Walk Day Co-Chair for the NAMI walk, “For the Mind of America”, from 2003 – 2005.

As the Director of Clinical Services, Eileen is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team. Eileen graduated with a Masters degree in Social Work from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA and is licensed by the State of New Hampshire as an independent clinician. She is licensed by the state as an alcohol and drug counselor having worked in the addictions field since 1986. In the past Eileen has worked with dually diagnosed adults in community mental health settings, residential treatment programs and in dependent practice.
